Circular hiking trail Christophstal

Circular hiking trail: 4,6 Kilometer
Altitude: 270 meter
Difficulty: hard
Follow the direction Bärenschlössle past.

the lower market square into Finkenbergstraße until Rappenstraße.

A few steps to the right to the Adler site, from here follow the symbol “Rundweg Christophstal”. Down the “Stäpfele” (stairs) you will reach
the valley. In the lower third, go straight over the meadow path (do not take the last staircase on the left!) Along the dry stone wall biotopes.
At the former Laborantenhaus, keep left and cross the brook on the footbridge. Now enter into the forest and follow the narrow footpath uphill to the road "Talsträssle". Continue on the paved road slightly uphill to the right. On the left you can see the new Boschenloch, a flat meadow with a view of Freudenstadt. Behind the wooden hut on the edge of the forest there is a barred tunnel entrance with a spring. In the curve towards Kniebis, after approx. 20 m, a narrow footpath leads you left into the forest and then uphill through the high forest on the steep slope.

The serpentine path
opens onto a forest path at the height of the Finkenberg. Keep left here, approx. 200 m, past the quarry. At the next crossroads, you can follow the circular path to the left towards Bärenschlössle. However, we recommend a short detour to the right to the Arnoldhütte with a barbecue area in a sunny forest clearing. On the same way back to the intersection, then continue straight ahead down the rustic footpath to the Bärenschlössle.
When you get to the end of the forest, keep to the right, then left at the game reserve. Below the Bärenschlössle, at the parking lot, turn right to the bridge, then left again towards the market square. Right at the beginning of the Christophstaler Steige (after the garden by the group of trees) the Bollenwegle branches off to the right to Straßburger Straße, where the visitor mine is located.
Walk towards the city center to Promenadenplatz, then left into Kirchgässle to the market square.

City, Forest, Tower – Freudenstadt Hiking Tour.

Circular hike: 10.6 kilometers
Elevation gain: 184 meters
Difficulty: easy

This hiking tour leads through the most beautiful forest areas in Freudenstadt, mainly on secluded forest paths.
The tour starts at the Hotel Adler. Walk from here to the market square. From here the red and white rhomboid sign of the tour Mittelweg will guide you out of town. Cross Loßburger Straße and walk across the lower market square, past the fountains, to the church.
This church is unique with its angular shape and the two towers. Go right past the church through the small alley, cross Schickhardt-, Alfred-, Gärtner- and Rappenstraße and then turn into Wölperwiesenweg.
After a few meters, the view opens to the right down to the valley Christophstal and the Bärenschlössle with its game reserve. Do not descend to the valley, but continue straight ahead up the Wölperweiseweg and over the pedestrian bridge, known as the Bässler Brücke, into the Teuchelwald. Walk about 1 kilometer on the Teuchelweg to the Waldcafé, then on to the shack Agnesruhe. Here you leave the Mittelweg and follow the yellow rhomboid sign to the left until you arrive to the signpost Agnesruheweg. There you turn right into the narrow path and follow it to the country road. Continue about 150 meters to the right on the sidewalk to the bus stop, then you cross the street. You are now at the Laufferbrunnen car park. Cross the street again. After the Laufferbrunnen ski hut, walk right down the Sauteichstrasse down to the shack Sauteich- or Lauterhütte.
This is where the Baldenhofer moat begins in direction Burgkopf. Follow the narrow footpath and enjoy the idyllic forest. After approx. 1.5 kilometers you will come across a forest path, which you follow for approx. 50 meters in direction of Wald-Hotel Zollernblick and Lauterbad, until the second section of the Baldenhofer Graben branches off to the left. As soon as you reach the ski slope, you walk across the meadow to the Wald-Hotel Zollernblick. Enjoy the wonderful view as far as the Swabian Alb.
Our hiking tour continues on the Plenterwaldpfad. From the Wald-Hotel Zollernblick walk towards Freudenstadt. After a few minutes you will see the symbol of the Plenterwald path on a tree. Follow this to Friedrichstrum on the 799 meter high Kienberg and experience the beauty of this special forest. The Herzhog-Friedrich-Tower offers a wonderful panoramic view. The way back to Freudenstadt takes place via Frank-Buchmann-Weg and Ernst-Luz-Weg, then right via the serpentine path to Park Courbevoie (yellow rhomboid sign). Following Lauterbadstraße past the Kurhaus, you walk along Loßburger Straße back to the market square and Hotel Adler.
